1. OFFLINE BADGE SCANNING FUNCTIONALITY
1. 1 Device is not connected on the internet.
For the app to be able to work offline you must, at least once, open the application (in online mode) and click to sync all the apps.
If your device is unable to connect to the wifi/4G you can still use momencio! Every activity will be saved locally on the device. All data will be sent to the server and resolve with the API once you connect the device to the internet.
To retrieve the data that you created when offline, you have to connect the devices on the internet and sync the applications. This way all the data that are still saved locally on the devices will then be sent to the server.
Introduction: This is an iPhone device’s setting. You can activate it from the application section of your device. If you activate this option, your device and the momencio application, will be online but the scanning feature will work offline. This option is very helpful in cases where the internet is very slow and unstable. Having the badge scanning feature offline, allows the process to be completed uninterrupted.
Tip: If you notice that the internet connection is for some reason slow or unstable, choose to activate the offline badge scanning to avoid any errors or delays.
How it works: Let’s say you activated the offline badge scanning option and you scan a lead's badge. The request will not come to momencio’s server straight away to resolve the badge with the API. Instead, the application will create a dummy contact, the session will be completed uninterrupted while in the background the system tries to send the badge to the server to resolve it with the API.
In case you scan a lead’s badge while you are offline and then you scan the same lead’s badge while offline, the system will merge the two contacts once all the data reach the server and resolve them with the API.
